Until I moved to Tennessee, I had never seen a flowering tree live and in person. (I also had never seen a daffodil, tulip, iris, etc. live and in person either but that has nothing to do with the drawing you see above.) Although I am not a particularly "flowery" person, I have to admit to going a little bit crazy and girlish about everything that's blooming right now. I drew this a little over a week ago - cut off the end of a branch and took it out back to the deck to draw.

We have a pair of birds - possibly starlings - who are setting up housekeeping in our gas grill on the deck. After I finished drawing, I left the little branch on their front porch to be incorporated into what is very possibly the largest songbird nest in known existence. They are building the Trump Tower of nests. It's enormous. It fills the ENTIRE grill. It's entirely possible we are going to have a Duggar-sized bird family out there if they manage to fill that nest with eggs.

A pretty little sketch indeed. A Duggar sized starling family? Oh my! Hope they make sweet music!

The Bradford Pear trees are pretty here too right now. This is a beautiful drawing! Glad you are enjoying the flowers! Now that birds' nest must be something to see!

Beautiful little drawing. :) I've been struggling to get any sketches or drawing to go in between my Moleskine sketchbook like yours, I am not sure why. Thank you for your comment on my kitten's drawing. =) I appreciate it a lot!

Your drawing is lovely! We had 2 Bradford Pear trees in front of our house for years, but the wind finally took its toll and destroyed them both. I miss them - they're such a beautiful tree. I'd love to see a picture of that bird nest! nancy

Your sketch is very well done--I am partial to botanical sketches. Btw, lots of guys like flowers too so they must not be toooo girlish! :-)

I love your drawing. No barbequing for you this next month. You will be lucky if the really big birds move into what sounds like a birdcondo.
